In The Style of John Wisner Ficks Reed Bamboo Rattan Chairs & Sofa Set. The item has no markings, but the style, brass caps, coils, and material strongly match the maker to these exact chairs. Condition as is, the wear of the cushions are functional, but one chair has a small section of coil exposed.
Ficks Reed was a premier manufacturer, and Wisner was a respected designer known for his elegant and sophisticated rattan furniture. Brass accents were a hallmark of Wisner's designs for Ficks Reed. The spring / coil design emphasis on comfort and quality construction aligns with Ficks Reed's reputation and Wisner's design philosophy. Wisner often incorporated elements of various styles, including Asian influences and a touch of Hollywood Regency glamour, into his rattan designs.
