H. C. Porter (born 1963), American, Mixed Media "The Porch". Mixed media on board composition of two young African American children on the porch outside of of a grungy, yellow brick house. Signed in pencil on matte, lower right. Titled verso. Framed.

Harriet Camille Porter (born 1963) is an American artist known for her mixed-media paintings that blend photography, printmaking, and acrylic paint to capture the spirit and resilience of Southern life, particularly in Mississippi. Her work often focuses on African American culture, rural communities, and social issues, using vivid colors and expressive detail to bring her subjects to life. Porter gained national recognition with her Backyards and Beyond series, documenting the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Her artwork has been widely exhibited and remains a significant reflection of contemporary Southern identity.
