George Kleiman (B 1946) American, Color Lithograph. Signed and dated "91" in pencil bottom right. Numbered "18/60" in pencil bottom left. Depicts an abstract undersea reef.
Overall size: 41 X 51 1/2 in.

George Kleiman was born in New York City in 1946. He studied at the School of Architecture, City College of New York from 1964 to 1967, before attending California State University in San Jose, California from 1967 to 1970, where he received a B.A. in Art and Industrial Design. His paintings are usually abstract, heavily influenced by the psychedelic counterculture movement he embraced when he moved to San Francisco. He married the Filipino artist Pacita Abad in 1971, and divorced a few years later. In the early 80s his work began to be exhibited at numerous galleries in California, New York, and Washington D.C., and continues to appear around the world in private collections and museums.
