Oil on board illustrative advertising painter done for Quality Baker's Sunbeam Bread, featuring a young girl (Little Miss Sunbeam) behind the wheel of a racecar, checked flag behind her, holding a delicious sandwich made with the enriching quality baked goods you can expect from Quality Bakers. Reach for Sunbeam Bread! Attributed middle left in print, E. Segner. Pencil signed lower right. Framed.

Sight Size: 17 1/2 x 25 1/4 in.Ellen Segner (1901–2001) was an American illustrator best known for her work in advertising, pin-up art, and children's book illustrations. She gained widespread recognition for creating the iconic Little Miss Sunbeam character for Sunbeam Bread in the 1940s, which became one of the most enduring images in American advertising. Segner's work also appeared in magazines, calendars, and commercial campaigns, showcasing her ability to capture lively, wholesome scenes with a soft yet vibrant style. A skilled and prolific artist, she left a lasting legacy in mid-20th-century commercial illustration.
