Desmond Rayner (1928-2014) Gouache on Board. Gouache on board painting of a variety of company logos. Signed lower right. Framed.
Overall Size: 36 1/2 x 50 in.
Sight Size: 32 3/4 x 46 1/4 in.Desmond Rayner (1928–2014) was a British artist and actor known for his intricate ink and gouache drawings that explore mesmerizing patterns in both monochrome and vibrant pastels. Born in Hackney, London, he left school at fourteen and pursued evening classes in technical drawing, drama, and commercial art at St Martin's School of Art. After serving in the Royal Air Force from 1946 to 1949, Rayner attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was married to writer and broadcaster Claire Rayner, with whom he had three children, including restaurant critic Jay Rayner. In addition to his visual art, Desmond Rayner appeared in various television productions, such as "Stolen Assignment" (1955) and "Hancock's Half Hour" (1956). He passed away on April 20, 2014, in Harrow, Middlesex, England.
