David Hayes (1931-2013) American, Abstract Mixed Media on Paper. Abstract composition with bold primary colors on paper. Dated 2005 lower right. Unframed.
Size: 30 x 22 in.
David Hayes (1931–2013) was an American abstract sculptor known for his large-scale, welded steel works inspired by organic forms. A student of David Smith at Indiana University, Hayes developed a distinctive style blending Modernist abstraction with nature-inspired motifs. His sculptures, often painted in bold colors, have been displayed in numerous public and private collections across the United States and Europe. Over his career, he created more than 300 exhibitions and received prestigious awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship. His work remains influential in contemporary abstract sculpture.
