Cultured Freshwater Pearl Necklace with 14k Yellow Gold and Amethyst Clasp. Single strand of freshwater pearls averaging 9mm with unique three-loop 14k yellow gold clasp with the 2 small oval amethysts and 1 larger round central amethyst amongst floral shapes of gold. Pearls are of fair quality.

Cultured freshwater pearls are pearls that are farmed and created using freshwater mussels. They are produced in Japan, the United States, and, on a much larger scale, in China. Quality of cultured freshwater pearls is evaluated through a grading system of a series of A values, based on luster, shape, surface, color and matching.
