CARTER, Charles (1874 – 1936), Lithograph Poster Carter the Great poster advertising cheating death. Condemned to death for witchcraft but cheats death at the gallows. Angry crowd as spirit flies up. The Otis Lithograph logo on bottom right. Stamped on back. Paper on linen backing. Charles Joseph Carter (1874-1936), chose to win his fame and fortune as a master magician by traveling around the world. Between 1900 and 1936, 'Carter the Great' made eight world tours in addition to appearances in his native country Size: 105 x 79 in.
