Capricorn One Framed Movie Poster.
Capricorn One (1977) is a suspenseful science fiction thriller directed by Peter Hyams, centered around a fictional NASA mission to Mars. When a technical failure threatens the success of the mission, the government orchestrates a cover-up, staging the entire Mars landing in a studio. The astronauts—played by Elliott Gould, James Brolin, and Sam Waterston—are forced to participate in the ruse, but soon realize the dangerous consequences of the conspiracy. Meanwhile, a journalist (played by Gould) begins investigating the truth behind the mission, putting both himself and the astronauts in grave danger. The film explores themes of government secrecy, media manipulation, and the ethical dilemmas of truth versus control.
