Silver frame with raised floral and vine motif. Marked Barbour Silver Co./International Silver Co. on back.
Size: 16 7/8 x 13 7/8 in.

In 1881 Samuel Barbour moved from Chicago to New Haven, Connecticut, where he and his brother Charles formed Barbour Brothers Company. In the beginning they were only marketers of silverplate products made by I. J. Steane & Company of Hartford. In 1892 the company changed to the Barbour Silver Company, and was one of the first to be absorbed into the International Silver Company of Meriden in 1898. Their mark appeared for many years after, but all production shifted to the Meriden offices at that time.
