Antique Japanese Woodblock Print Orchids and Hyacinths. The calligraphy label below the orchids 蘭風, translates as “Orchid in the Wind”, and below the vine 豆扁白 as “White Hyacinth Bean”. The little squiggles above these Chinese characters are a Japanese script called hiragana, which is a phonetic system to indicate the Japanese pronunciation. Two octagonal scenes with calligraphy inscription below. Sight Size: 9.25 x 9.25 in. (each) Overall Size: 14 x 23 in. This item is framed behind glass.
