Annie Harmon (1855–1930) American, Oil on Board Landscape "Indian Summer". Oil on canvas landscape of a group of small rural buildings on the edge of a quiet lake. Signed Harmon lower right. Attributed and titled verso. Framed.
Annie Harmon (1855–1930) was an American painter known for her plein-air landscapes, particularly of California’s oak trees and coastal scenery. A student of the renowned artist William Keith, she developed a style influenced by the Barbizon and Tonalist movements, emphasizing atmospheric effects and natural beauty. Harmon often painted outdoors, capturing the shifting light and mood of the landscape with soft brushwork and muted tones. Though not widely recognized during her lifetime, her work remains appreciated for its evocative depictions of the California wilderness.
