American mostly F.M. Whiting set of (21) Sterling Silverware Approximately 17.56 ozt 2 knives, 5 forks, 3 smaller forks, 8 spoons, 3 butter spreaders. Monogrammed on front near top. Sterling handled knives with stainless steel blade.
Size: 14 x 1 1/2 in.
Knives. 6 3/4 x 1 in. Largest.
Weight: 16.56 ozt. + 1/2 ozt per each handle of the carving set. totaling approximately 17.56 ozt.

F. M. Whiting & Co. was founded in 1878 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. It became Frank M. Whiting & Company in 1896 and continued manufacturing under that name until the firm was acquired by Ellmore Silver Co. around 1940. Ellmore acquired Amston and Concord silver companies at the same time, and continued to produce a number of the older F. M. Whiting patterns marked with Amston or Concord trademarks. When Ellmore closed in 1960, they were still making pieces with all three marks on them.
