(5) Greyhound Breeding and Pedigree Books. Lot of five books regarding the history, pedigree, and breeding of greyhound dogs. Including "Great Names in Greyhound Pedigrees (Vol. 1 & 2)", Greyhound Breeder's Journal (Vols. 1 & 2), Greyhound Stud Book (Vol 99, published 1999).
Greyhounds are a sleek and graceful breed known for their remarkable speed and slender build, originally bred for hunting and racing. With a history dating back to ancient Egypt, they were prized for their ability to chase down game over long distances. Their short coats, long legs, and aerodynamic bodies make them some of the fastest dogs, capable of reaching speeds up to 45 miles per hour. Despite their competitive nature, greyhounds are often gentle, calm, and affectionate companions, particularly in their retirement after racing careers. Their friendly demeanor and low-maintenance coats make them well-suited for both active and relaxed households.
