Private Collection, New MexicoThe painting is in overall very good condition. Ultraviolet examination does not reveal areas of restoration or inpainting. Although some pigments fluoresce, they appear to be the artist's original intent. A few minor areas of surface abrasion, notably two points in upper center sky, two areas between steer and horse, and in upper right corner. Gilt loss along edges of frame.
