A fine Minton Pate-Sur-Pate porcelain lidded urn or vase, shield shaped, flanked by gilt enriched acanthus handles, finely painted and hand-tooled in white slip with Cupid holding shackles and a work hammer. Peacock blue ground, the reverse, neck and socle enriched with ornate raised gilt styized flowers. Signed L Solon in slip for Marc Louis Solon. With crowned globe minton mark in gold. Shape number 3257. Circa 1895.
