The Art House Bird
Vacuum formed plastic, MDF, paint.
24 x 48 x 6The Art House Bird project explores the connection between art and architecture. We see ideas manifest in two dimensions that transition to three dimensions and sometimes back again. During this process we have worked to create something both beautiful and functional. The prismatic pattern, originally designed for a paper boat, has been applied to products and building walls and is now the basis of our birdhouse. The pointed hills and valleys of the pattern rendered in three dimensions create spaces for birds living or nesting in Arthouse. The outside is beautiful; the inside is functional.
Rios Clementi Hale Studios is a Los Angeles–based office that specializes in multidisciplinary design. Our team is dedicated to applying a collaborative approach to the design process on each project we work on. Our sister company, notNeutral, was born from this approach. notNeutral creates objects that are part of the rituals of everyday lives. We love to tell stories and instill our projects and products with the ideas, culture, and history their designs are based on.
