Perch
wood dowels and plastic salsa bowls
16 inches diameter
One of the most essential parts of any birdhouse, the initial component that makes it functional for the bird, is the perch that allows access to the interior of the house. It occurred to me to make a birdhouse entirely out of perches. Perch provides a spherical interior space surrounded entirely by perches radiating out in all directions. This structure offers a multitude of roosts outside of the dwelling as well as a way to catch birdseed poured over the house.
