With great attention to detail, each piece is hand constructed from stainless steel that has been cut, bent, rolled, and welded. His designs are informed by geometric shapes, and through meticulous craftsmanship he transforms a bland industrial material into striking functional furniture.
Velasquez started designing in 1986 when he made furniture and other useful objects for himself and later established his studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. For almost three decades, Damian Velasquez has produced clean modern furniture that stands out from the crowd.
