"The Water Carrier " - LITHOGRAPH. ARTIST PROOF. Image 7.5" x 10". Framed 12" x 15". Chaim Goldberg (1917 – 2004) was a Polish-Jewish artist, painter, sculptor, and engraver. He is known for being a chronicler of Jewish life in the small Polish village (or Shtetl) where he was born, Kazimierz Dolny in eastern Poland; and as a painter of Holocaust era art, which to the artist was seen as an obligation and art with a sense of profound mission. His works have appeared at the American Congress, Washington, D.C.; Smithsonian Institution, Hall of Graphic Arts, Washington, D. C.; Klingspor Museum, Offenbach, Germany; Museum of Printing History, Houston, Texas; ; Muzeum Nadwi?la?ski, Kazimierz Dolny, Poland; The Avila Art Center, Caracas, Venezuela; DeAndries Gallery, St' John's University, Queens, New York; Theodor Hertzl Institute, New York City, New York; Museum Yad Labanim, Petach Tikvah, Israel (attended by Mrs. Golda Meir); among other group and one-man exhibitions.
