- Lot Description
Japanese six-panel Kano school folding screen, likely Meiji era or earlier. Painted with three cranes next to a rushing river in winter. With a rich, gold ground.
(Folded) Height: 67 1/2 in x width: 25 in x depth: 4 1/4 in. Width, unfolded: 156 in.Condition
The colors are bold and bright. There are no major losses. There are some small tears, scuffs, and scratches throughout; two larger tears along the upper edge of the rightmost panel, one measuring approximately 3 inches, the second measure approximately 6 inches. Wear along the verso; in particular, along the leftmost and rightmost panels where there are two large tears in the backing.
