- Lot Description
Group of five Chinese porcelain plates, basin, and saucer. Including:
One Ming Swatow saucer with inscriptions along the top. Painted with iron red, green, yellow, and blue.
One 19th c. Chinese export butterfly garden famille rose plate.
One late Qing Chinese porcelain basin, ca. 1900. Decorated with a woman holding a child and riding a mythological creature in a garden.
Pair of blue and white porcelain plates, each with Kangxi four-character marks along the underside.
Height ranges from 1 in to 3 3/4 in; diameter ranges from 6 in to 11 1/4 in.Condition
Ming Swatow saucer: No sign of restoration, major cracks, or major losses. There is one chip along the rim. Wear scratches and some minor paint losses throughout. Along the underside there are four areas of red accretions. There is a firing flaw along the underside of the rim. Wear to the footrim.
Butterfly garden plate: No signs of restoration, major cracks or chips. Very minor losses to the gilt throughout. Light wear and scratches throughout. To the underside there is a red accretion along the rim. There are minute paint accretions throughout. There are a few minor firing flaws and wear to the rim.
Blue and white plates: Both plates there are no signs of restorations, major chips, cracks, or losses. Both plates have a few minute chips to the rim. Both plates have wear to the footrims. General wear throughout, consistent with age and use.
Basin: No signs of restoration, major cracks, chips, or losses. Minute firing flaws and general wear throughout, consistent with age. Fading and some losses to the painted decoration. Heavy losses to the gilt decoration. Wear to the footrim. - Shipping Info
