• Lot Description

  Bezbozhnik u Stanka (English: "The Godless in the Workplace"). № 6, 1925.

  Dimensions: 27 x 35 cm.

  A single issue of this outspoken Soviet freethought newspaper (magazine), published from 1922 to 1931. A surprisingly bright, unworn copy. Near Fine and without the usual toning and chipping to the external wrappers. A little raggedness along the bound edge, suggesting that this issue may have been removed from a bound volume (but with no other evidence to that effect).

  This issue with a vivid front cover illustrations and numerous text illustrations by Dmitri Moor, rear cover by Aleksandr Deyneka and a stunning color center spread illustration by Nikolai Kogout. This semimonthly organ of the Bolshevik League of Militant Atheists was issued simultaneously with their monthly magazine (titled simply "Bezbozhnik"). Well preserved issue are highly uncommon; this is a beautiful example with highly significant artistic contributions.
