It depicts Pierrot (clown) playing a musical instrument and a dancing woman in a modern dress according to the fashion of the 1920’s.
Pochoir: French for stencil. The term is applied to a class of print usually hand-colored through a series of carefully cut out stencils.This process was much used in Paris during the early decades of the 20th century. Especially popular in the art deco period, used for fashion plates amongst other things.
