10 Early 19th C Letters to Aaron Vanderpoel, Kinderhook. Ten letters, written around the 1820s, to Aaron Vanderpoel(Van der Poel) and his brother James Vanderpoelin Kinderhook and Hudson, New York. The former was a US representative from New York, judge of the superior court and close friend of the 8th US president Martin van Buren. Many local towns are mentioned including: Ghent, Livingston, Caanan, Lebanon, Ancram, Austerlitz and so on. Fascinating pieces of Columbia county political history.
