A Manuscript Containing Prayers and Poems, Signed and Dated. 98 leaves (196 pages); size: 11 x 16.3 cm; 9 lines to a page, in clear, large and handsome naskhī script, in black ink. The text is vocalized throughout. There are two pages with beautiful illumination. One at the beginning, the other on page 82b. All sentences are separated by rosettes in gold and colors. Some of the headings are on gold strips. The content of the manuscript is as follows: Prayer for Prophet Muhammad, pages 1a – 10b. Prayer to do well in the market, pages 10b – 13a. Prayer to protect one’s self from evil, pages 13b – 15b. Prayer to protect one from evil eye, pages 15b – 16b. Prayer to the Great Name of God, pages 16b – 23a. Prayer of wrapping oneself in the light of God 23a – 26a. Various prayers for almost every evil in the world, pages 26a – 57a. Qasīdat al-Burdah (The Mantle Poem) by al-Būsīrī (1213 – 1296 AD). It is a sufi poem entirely in praise of the Prophet Muhammad, pages 57b – 75b. Tā’iyyat `Abd al-Qādir al-Jilānī (The Poem ending in T by al-Jilanī (1077 – 1166 AD), a well known sufi poem, pages 75b – 79a. Various prayers for different parts of the day and night, pages 79a – 82a. Bānat Su`ād, a poem by Ka`b Ibn Zuhayr (seven century poet), when he embraced Islam, pages 82b – 92b. Various supplications, pages 93b – 98b. It appears that it was written by `Alī Habībīuglu Amr Allāh in the 1242 of the Islamic calendar, corresponding to 1826 AD. Recently, beautifully bound in quarter morocco with marbled board. Some smudges, a few pages soiled, but script is not serious affect. It can be easily read. Still a nice manuscript with gorgeous calligraphy.
