Stephen Taber (1777-1862) Inlaid Mahogany Tall Case Clock in a Roxbury Case, circa 1798-1825, the bonnet with rare fruit carved fretwork is flanked by brass ball finials and stop fluted columns, the Roman Numeral face is signed S. Taber above the numeral six within the time track. The time ring, with hand-painted Roman numerals and the five-minute markers and the subsidiary seconds ring are painted in an Arabic format. There is a moon phase dial, and the four spandrel areas are decorated with gilded pineapples. The long central waist door is flanked by stop fluted columns, and the base is lacking the applied French feet.
