“Perhaps intending to express truth and the idea that behind the physical world lay a spiritual reality. John Lochtefeld’s work synthesizes elements from the intellectual theory and visual vocabularies of Paul Klee, Marc Chagall and other Symbolists, Expressionists and Cubists who’s avant guard dismissal of Classicism – and even Impressionism – pioneered the Modernist movement.” ~ Carolyn Walsh
