Note: Warren grew up as the son of a cowboy in Arizona and New Mexico before his family settled in Texas. After serving in the Air Force during World War II, he studied art at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. His main interest was the depictions of the "Wild West". His paintings should give the most naturalistic impression possible. In 1968 Warren became a member of the "Cowboy Artists of America" association. Former President of the United States, Lyndon B. Johnson, was one of Warren's largest collectors. During his tenure, numerous works by the artist adorned the walls of the White House and later also those of his private estate, the "Texas White House"
