Louis XVI Leather-Inset Directoire Mahogany Bureau Plat
French, early 19th C.
31 1/2 x 65 x 32 3/4 in. (80 x 165.1 x 83.2 cm.)Condition
Minimal wear and abrasion to leather. Has key. Backside fitted with false drawers. Front right fitted with a single deep drawer faced to simulate two short drawers. Scattered shrinkage, cracks, patches and minor filler to veneers throughout. Typical bruising and abrasion consistent with age and use. Ball feet may have replaced casters. Fitted with leather writing surfaces on sides. Small veneer loss to top edge banding on backside right corner. Otherwise in good condition and presents nicely.
