Matthew Cohen Right Down The Middle Fine Art Photography U/V Resistant Glass: 24"x 36" Exterior: 27.5" x 39.5" 2019 The iconic Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge Towers are captured in perfect and singular alignment, canvased with a calming and colorful backdrop. As a professional nautical photographer, Matthew Cohen blends his work with his passion for the sea to capture unique perspectives and the motion of the marine world. Cohen's fifteen years of experience as an instructor at the Sail Newport Sailing Center and ten as a professional sailor who has covered over 30,000 ocean miles, account for his ability to venture to the ends of super yacht bowsprits, dangle a hundred feet about the deck, or even dive below the surface of the water to produce his photographs. He first began experimenting with 35mm film while at Roger Williams University, where he would also begin working with digital photography. Cohen would go on to work for the industry leaders, Onne van der Waal and Clint Clemens, before establishing his own studio in Newport, Rhode Island. His photographs have been shown throughout New England, commissioned by US Sailing, and featured in editorials in National Geographic, Yachting World Magazine, and Newport Life Magazine among others.
