Total of 10 boxed medical apparatus from the mid 19th through the early 20th century, to include: 1 Self Syringe - Medium. 2 parts that thread together (as pictured), in a fine slide lid pine box with a printed label, ca. 1850-1870. Box: H2-1/2" W 3-1/4" D 11-3/4". A brass and metal medical pump in a plush lined mahogany box. English, Cooper, 26 Oxford St (London)., with rubber hose (dried up and in several pieces). 19th century. Box: H 3-1/4" W 10 1/4" D 4-1/2". Except for hose, in fine condition. A box of 15 medical tools in a mahogany box. 19th century. To include: 11 knives, mostly long and slender, 3 are shorted and one is double edged. Most are still quite sharp! Some are from England, some Paris, some Philadelphia. 3 with hooked or bent end(s), and one horrible looking pair of spring loaded scissors. All with similar handles, mostly with cross-hatched grips and a few smooth. All stainless steel with some lighter rusting, all in fine condition. The box at one time had a divider so that some tools could be held in the top, now gone. Box with small brass plate in the top (blank) and escutcheon. Box with soiling and marks from use. One small 1-1/2" chip at bottom left front of box. H 3" W 16" D5". A small stainless steel steam operated device, made by the American Steam Guage Co., Boston, Pat'd. in 1875. Use unknown. Appears complete. Cased in a mahogany box with heavy bold clasps and handle. Fine condition. Box H 4-1/2" W 8-3/4" D 7-1/2". Blood pressure meter in a hinged top box. Pilling Special Sphygmomanometer. G.P. Pilling & Son Co. Philadelphia, USA. Complete with glass tubes, rubber hoses, stainless steel valves, and connections, and a leather arm cuff. Box with brass handle and clasp. H 3-1/2" W 3-3/4", D 16". Excellent condition. NOTE: THIS ITEM CONTAINS MERCURY CONTAINED WITHIN THE GLASS TUBING. A Medical pill-making (?) kit contained in a fine oak lift top box. Contents include stainless steel rings, wooden funnels (?) turned wood handles capped with ss concave ends, and "cachets medicamenteaux" 1-1/4" discs perhaps used to encapsulate medicines. Inside top of box is fitted with 10 concave ss "cups" with precisely made stepped ridges. H 4" W 11-1/4" D 5-1/2". Excellent condition. Another box with pill making apparatus. Konseal Filling and Closing Apparatus. Direction sheet pasted to inside top of box. Appears to be complete, save for clasp on the front. Excellent condition. H 2-1/4" W 17-1/2" D 9-3/4". A gun for interstitial implantation of radioactive gold grains. Contained in a fine mahogany box with cedar blocks to hold the stainless steel gun and attachments. ca 1950(?). with a photocopy of info and instructions for use). Excellent condition. H 2-1/4" W 16" D 6-1/2". Neuffer-Ulrich's Stomach and Intestinal Suturing Apparatus. Jetter & Scheerer Products 251 Fourth Ave., New York. ca 1935. Housed in a fine mahogany box, with instruction sheet included. All stainless steel parts. Excellent condition, perhaps lacking one attachment. H 3" W 17" D 15". ACMI Flexible Examining Gastroscope (no thank you!) American Cytoscope Makers, Inc. Since 1900. New York. A long fine box houses a small electric motor, some tubing, and a long (32") stainless steel partially wrapped (leather?) tube. Yikes! Comes with the business card of Sherwood Vine, M.D., Trenton, NJ. Appears complete. Box top with some wear and scratches. Contents are in excellent condition. H 2-3/4" W 33-3/4" D 5".

Items can be picked up in person or by a shipper at 14 Business Park Drive - Unit 5, Branford, CT - BY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 9am - 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction. Please note that all first-time buyers that wish to pick items up in person must pay with cash.

All purchases must be picked up from our location within 14 days, no exceptions. Purchased items that have been paid for but not picked up or shipped from our auction facility within 14 days of the auction will be stored at a rate of $10 per day per lot for furniture and larger items and $5 per day per lot for smaller items. A moving fee of $25 going into storage and $25 going out of storage will be added. Storage fees and late fees must be paid before items are released. There are no exceptions.
Items not picked up within 60 days of the auction date will be considered in default and become the property of New England Auctions.
