Beautiful and Happy Vintage Flat Woven Scandinavian Marta Maas Kilim Rug , Country of Origin / Rug Type: Scandinavia Rug, Circa Date: Mid – 20th Century – This brilliant vintage mid century Scandinavian Marta Maas Kilim kilim rug, titled Rod Gron Ang (Red Green Meadow), is a bold and playfully artistic masterpiece with a distinctly satisfying beauty.
Uniform rectangular shapes, with jagged edges, are rendered symmetrically across, as well as along, the surface of this breathtaking Swedish flat woven kilim rug. These geometric design shapes are separated by perfect lines to accentuate their precision.
The bold happy orange, purple and pink hues that dominate this vintage Scandinavian rug comprise the main visual attraction. However, wavering strands of a lighter neutral color are lightly sketched across the surface of this background color to soften the effect and create a more organic appeal.
Nine perfectly uniform rows line the center rectangle field in a repetitive layout. Each section bears rectangle shapes, with cut out edges, that alternate in numbers from four to five per section. These rectangle shapes were woven using alternating colors that combine to create a real sense of unity throughout the entire surface of this magnificent and happy vintage mid century rug.
