A Beautiful And Highly Decorative Large Antique Light Blue Persian Khorassan Rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Antique Persian Rugs, Circa Date: 1910 – Soft colors and perfectly proportioned designs give this large size antique Persian Khorassan carpet an undeniable sense of elegance and grace. The warm sandy tone borders filled with sweeping curvilinear decorations and Shah Abbasi palmettes hug the delicate light blue field and tie together the soft neutral floral motifs and earthy accent colors that appear throughout the borders, field and guard bands. Cascading floral sprays, re-curving saz leaves and immensely detailed space fillers form an exceptional large-scale arabesque that fills the delicately abrashed field. Hairline details and poly chromatic shading bring out the best features and details of each element while creating a balanced and superbly elegant composition.Condition
Lot # 487 , is in good condition. The rug has been lightly antique washed. The pile is full and even with no wear or tear signs visible. The two ends are original and secured.
