A unique small antique square size Khotan rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: East Turkestan Rugs, Circa date: 1900’s – This beautiful antique small scatter size rug from East Turkestan has elements found in both Persian and Chinese art work. This beautiful square size rug uses a central medallion surrounded by delicate flowers and geometric elements. The angular elements of the corners of this charming antique Khotan rug contrast to the curvy lines of the floral to create a piece that has both a formal feel, but a uniquely organic quality.
The design of the small antique square size Khotan rug is based on a central medallion. The blue background of the central medallion emblem gives the appearance of a formal reflecting pool surrounded by a garden. The refined floral design elements are carefully placed to create symmetry and balance the small square antique Khotan rug has both vertical and horizontal symmetry, with each side mirroring the other.
