Description
This splendid light blue and burgundy antique Persian Khorassan rug was produced in Persia during the 1920’s. The rug weavers of Khorassan are known as producers of some of the finest quality carpets in the world. They stand out in their use of color and high level of detail in the designs. This beautiful antique Persian rug masterfully blends exquisite color and a delicate garden design to create a unique and charming piece.
This truly magnificent antique carpet uses predominantly shades of burgundy, brown and light blue in various levels of saturation. The use of different saturation levels, and the striated rug abrash color effect, allows the artist to create fine detail without the use of an extensive color palette. Several elements of light blue antique Persian Khorassan rug work together to enhance the balance and sense of order in the design.
Aside from the simple palette, the Khorassan rug uses symmetry to create a central design that is similar to a medallion rug.
