ANTIQUE PERSIAN BIDJAR RUG. 12 ft 10 in x 11 ft 5 in (3.91 m x 3.47 m).
Beautiful Blue Background Antique Persian Bidjar Rug, Origin: Persia, Circa: late 19th century – This antique Bidjar Persian rug is an absolutely remarkable composition. In addition to boasting the strong, thick weave that characterizes the “iron rugs” of Bidjar origin, this amazing antique Oriental rug also features an astonishing level of detail work, most evident in its expansive and dynamic field. Corner pieces and a central medallion are present, carefully arranged and meticulously detailed. Further, a richly detailed series of inner and outer borders of alternating tones are also present, classically framing the composition. However, while each of these classic design elements is very present in this palatial antique Persian rug, what is most notable about is its extraordinarily richly detailed field. What amounts to a particularly expressive allover pattern of floral and vine scroll elements dominates the field, filling it right up to the medallion and to the corner pieces, creating an overall immersion of both vastness and incredible intricacy. A gorgeous composition, this antique Persian Bidjar rug is a veritable work of art of the highest order.
