A Magnificent And Extremely Collectible Rare Antique 17th Century Caucasian Kuba Embroidery, Country Of Origin: Caucasus, Circa Date: 17th Century – The antique embroideries of the people of the Caucasus Mountains demonstrates a diversity of styles, colors, and techniques. This 17th century piece is a rare coveted find and a fine example of the work of a tough people, who lived in a harsh, mountainous environment. The antique textiles of this region reflects the influences of Persian rug design in the colors used, the design motifs, and the layout. This piece is a silk embroidery on cotton backing.
