1 - Vintage Verner Panton Textile, Country Of Origin: Denmark, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century
This vintage textile art piece from renowned Danish furniture and interior designer, Verner Panton, features a characteristic “Kurve” pattern which is a reoccurring trademark design in the artist’s works. In eight evenly spaced lines, this sweeping brushstroke of a pattern creates a gradient of citrus-hued colors set against a solid orange background. Beginning in the center with a brilliant lemon yellow, the subsequent lines morph into a delightful range of burnt oranges and then conclude in the outermost lines with a sienna brown. The overall composition provides a sense of movement and fluidity. Verner Panton, who studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, was most known throughout his extensive career for his modern, innovative and futuristic designs. Admittedly, Panton was inspired by 1960’s “Mod” style, which is an easily detectable influence in this textile given the use of an abstract, repeated pattern and how a single color is explored through multiple hues.
2 - A Mid Century Modern Vintage Verner Panton Orange Mira X Wave Fabric Textile, Country Of Origin: Denmark, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century
This vintage textile by popular mid-20th century designer Verner Panton of Denmark features his widely recognized Mira X Wave pattern in an undulation of warm tones ranging from dark sienna to sunshine yellow with a total of eight shades of sienna, orange, and yellow in layered waves. The design creates an illusion of movement, making one think of waves of heat. This particular design and color pattern was widely considered Panton’s most impressive, and part of his futuristic design themes. This piece can be used as a wall hanging, upholstery, or other use.
