- Lot Description
Incredible piece of diving technology that cost over $30,000 new in the mid-1970s! This is an Interspace Systems PP-1, aka Porpoise Pack One rebreather system. The equipment included in this lot is the backpack, helmet, associated parts show in photos and padded case all this was transported in originally.
We encourage you to do a Internet search about the Interspace Systems Porpoise Pack One. There is some incredible background information about its development which we do not have space to go into here. This specific unit, number 307, was used during the mid-1970s. This unit was last used by Divers Academy International to train commercial diving students.
Please review the detailed photos. We did not attempt to clean or restore any aspects of the system. As to be expected, all the equipment could use a good cleaning after being in storage. Lastly, please note that the original Interspace case that houses the backpack is quite heavy. Please email us with your postal code for a shipping quote. This can also be picked up at Nations Attic facility in Wichita, Kansas.
All items will be shipped with a signature required upon delivery and full insurance either via FedEx or the USPS Priority Mail. Worldwide shipping is available; however, no ocean freight will be offered on large items. DHL express is an option for international shipments under 600 pounds via air. Shipping: Shipping fees listed with each lot pertain to domestic shipping only (contiguous or lower 48). International bidders are subject to higher shipping fees. Please inquire about shipping to a particular country before the start of the auction. Purchased items will be shipped on a first paid, first shipped basis and may take up to twenty (20) business days for said shipment to leave our (Nations Attic, Inc.) business. For time sensitive shipments, we (Nations Attic, Inc.) will expedite payment processing and shipping for a nominal fee. Items paid for by personal check are subject to a ten (10) business day hold for funds clearance. All domestic mainland items are shipped via FedEx ground or via USPS unless otherwise specified or requested by the customer. International shipments are shipped via USPS International or FedEx.
