Unusual George III black lacquered and gilded tavern clock face and case, the case constructed throughout of oak, the front of the trunk decorated in gilt with scrolled lines and rectangular latching, the arched dial made up of three vertical oak planks, the chapter ring on white ground with Roman numerals, timepiece only movement, labeled Borrett Stowmarket (George Borrett, Stowmarket, Suffolk, mid 18th century), the drop fitted with an arched door painted with a figural scene, now fitted with electric works.
