Daniel Huntington (1816- 1906) Portrait of Cyrus West Field (1819-1892) oil on canvas, painted in 1893 signed lower left: "D. Huntington 1893" Plaque: Cyrus W. Field, an honorary member of the Chamber of Commerce 1858-1892, painted by Daniel Huntington 1893. 30" x 25" American frame, circa 1860. Field was a Businessman and Financier. He was one of the founders of the Atlantic Telegraph Company which laid the first telegraph cable across the Atlantic Ocean in 1858. Provenance: Property from Credit Suisse's Americana Collection
