Salmagundi Club Thumb Box Exhibition label on verso.
Although Andrew Winter spent most of his time in the 1930's, 40's, & 50's in Maine, he also painted early in his career in New York. This painting of the New York Harbor most likely depicting the 50 year celebration of the Statue of LIberty. It was exhibited at the Salmagundi Club in New York in the mid 1930's. An early example of his New York paintings executed before moving to Maine.
