Overall length 15-1/8", blade length 9-1/2". Circa 1840. Beautiful knife, probably put together by a silversmith. Extremely heavy blade making it very effective for fighting although one can see it was carried for show, especially on dress occasions. It literally is a piece of jewelry. The blade has an unusual sharply dropping clip with swedge on both sides. Blade is in very fine condition, some minor pitting and surface scratches from cleaning, modern sharpening marks to edge. Silver crossguard with ball finials. All mounts of coin silver. Ebony handle with beveled edges, enhanced with three shields centered with large rivets on each side, silver pommel. Solid silver scabbard with decorative fluted throat. Silver belt hook, ball finial at tip. This is an unique, custom ordered knife. Overall: 15-1/8"L.
