Circa 1840. German silver mounts, knife and scabbard. Blade with gentle clip, swedge on both sides, and stamped on left side "P. Rose; New-York" for Peter Rose. Minor pitting combined with medium pitting and black stains. One small section where blade goes into crossguard on rear has some heavy pitting. Blade edge and top of swedge with modern sharpening marks. Beautiful two-toned wooden grips checkered overall. Rose-style clam shell pommel. Red scabbard with tooled designs on front; frog missing from throat. Ornate border on scabbard tip cover. Overall: 13 - 1/4" L.
