Overall length 13-1/2", blade length 8-1/2". Circa 1860. Unusually shaped blade stamped "Pradel, A./New. Orleans". No discernible clip, large swedge on each side half the length of the blade. 15% original polish, very small area of minor pitting on each side and top. 85% of the blade covered with grinding marks and scratches. Terrible attempt at cleaning blade. Edge with modern sharpening marks. Sharpened at one point to create slight belly at the edge. Steel crossguard covered in heavy patina. Rosewood grips, coffin shaped pommel. German silver scabbard with belt loop. Pictured in book "New Orleans Cutlers" by Bazer on inside cover. Not many knives known marked by Pradel, less than a dozen. Collectors of Southern knives, most charmed by New Orleans makers. Overall: 13-1/2"L.
