Made by and signed on the haft "L.C. Wragg Sheffield". Overall length of 14-1/12", blade length 9". Blade with spear point shape. Swedge on each side. Etched floral designs run the entire length of the left side. In center of blade is an etched panel reading "For My Enemies". The blade is an outstanding almost new condition with 98% of the original polish, all etching is as the day it was made. Handle is enhanced with the very rare combination cross guard and pommel. Coffin hilted pommel, decorated with half horse, half alligator. Cross guard depicts Texas Longhorn Steer. The nose on the steer on each side is flattened. Two dents in one pommel panel on the end. Fine Mother-of-Pearl scales. Leather scabbard, tooled and accented with gold designs. German silver mounts. Belt hook attached to the throat. Scabbard in fine condition. Circa 1840.
