Circa 1835. Blade with elegant clip and long swedge over half the blade. Marked "Manufactured by W. & S. Butcher Sheffield". Heavily pitted in areas on both sides with light scratches to surface. German silver mounts, handle and scabbard. Ivory scales decorated on both sides with seven studs. Left side has a decorative nameplate. Has early style wrapped coffin hilt. Grip on left side with triangular piece of ivory missing, about 1" long. Deluxe scabbard, tooled with floral and leaf designs on edges. German silver throat with fancy scalloped edges, and reinforced tip is very fancy with scallop design. Just in front of the top of the tip, the leather is cut open. This occurred when someone put the knife in the scabbard carelessly with the point cutting through the top. Overall: 14 - 1/2" L.
