18th c. and adapted (19th c.), England, with elaborately carved cherub-and-crown crest and seat frieze, barley twist pilaster side supports, acanthus decorated arm rests, with hand-caned back and seat and loose red velvet seat cushion, 47"h x 25"w x 23"d - PROVENANCE: Estate of Huguette Clark - NOTES/LITERATURE: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corocoran Gallery, Washington in 1925
Good, wood loss on the back crest but otherwise fine condition, no visible cane breaks, original surface had nice deep brown color, seat and leg stretchers likely rebuilt, velvet cushion with minor wear

PROPERTY PICK-UP/SHIPPING/STORAGE POLICY
The gallery will open for property pick-up on Monday, December 11 & Tuesday, December 12 from 10:00am to 4:00pm and by appointment after those dates. Purchases will be available for collection at the Millea Bros. auction gallery, located at 607 Myrtle Ave., Boonton, NJ 07005, for up to seven (7) business days following the completion of the auction. All merchandise not removed from the auction gallery by this time will be released to a third-party storage and shipping company, "DAKS Global Logistics" (tel: 484.370.8992, email: sales@daksglobal.com) in King of Prussia, PA and moved to their warehouse facility without further notice to the buyer. From that point forward, "Daks Global Logistics" will coordinate all shipping, delivery and collection arrangements. Daks Global Logistics will store merchandise free of charge for a period of up to (10) business days. After that period a one-time $25 handling fee will be assessed and a daily storage charge of $5 per lot/day will commence regardless of lot size or value. You may, of course, use any shipper you wish and no fees will be assessed, providing your purchases are retrieved from Daks Global Logistics by January 5th, 2018.
