- Lot Description
An important Carte de Visite (CDV) captures Rebecca, Charley, and Rosa, three white-appearing children who were marketed as "Slave Children from New Orleans." Photographed by Myron Kimball of New York City around 1863, this image was part of an abolitionist campaign to highlight the absurdities of racial classification and the horrors of slavery during the Civil War era.
